ABOUT US

The Tyler Organization of men was organized in 1968 to promote growth and seek to understand the needs of the people, especially the young black males of our community and to promote constructive programs for community improvements, educational growth, and involve committee men through effective implementation.

Accomplishments

  • Through legal means, brought about single member districts elections of City Council Members

  • Played permanent role in the first Black to be elected to the TISD School Board

  • Had a major role in the naming of Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd

  • Influenced the extension of North Broadway Annual donation to the UNCF

  • Played a major role in the election of a Black man to the Smith County Commissioners Court.
